Yo-Yo Ma is a French-born Chinese-American cellist. He has received multiple Grammy Awards, the National Medal of Arts in 2001, Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2011 and the Polar Music Prize in 2012. Ma is one of the best-known cellists of the modern age and is widely considered to be one of the most talented.

Although he never acted in any Disney movies, his musical compositions "Sonata in F Major for Cello and Piano, Op. 5. No. 1" and "Slumber My Darling" were heard in the 1998 Touchstone Pictures film The Horse Whisperer and the Buena Vista Television series Alias episode "The Counteragent" respectively. Ma contributed a "Barbecued Spareribs with Beer and Honey" recipe for Miss Piggy's 1996 cookbook, In the Kitchen with Miss Piggy.
