You and Me, Kid

You and Me, Kid was a television series on the Disney Channel that premiered at launch on April 18, 1983, hosted by Sonny Melendrez and the You and Me Players (Toni Attell, Caleb Chung, Mitchell Young Evans, Gary Schwartz, and Ricci Mann). It was for toddlers and their parents to do fun learning activities together during specialized segments, including exercising, fun projects, and singing children's songs.

The segments include:

  • Let's Go! (exercise skills)
  • You and Me Theater (creative drama)
  • Famous and 1/2 (celebrities and their children)
  • Shh! (listening and observation skills)
  • Mime Your Own Business (pantomime)

The series ran for 130 episodes and four videocassette tapes, each containing four episodes, were released by Walt Disney Home Video in the mid-1980s for the newly-established home rental market. These tapes are nearly impossible to find. Additionally, reruns were shown until September 29, 1991.

The theme song is, "Just You and Me, Kid" sung by Robin Frederick, and the show ended with Sonny and the You and Me Players singing, "Loving Together, Living Together," followed by the ending theme.

In 1988, a store with the same name opened at Disney Village that sold childrens apparel, toys, and games.
