Plot[]
Season One[]
In fall 2015, Peter Parker arrives at Midtown High of Science and Technology for orientation in freshman year with his aunt May, when the school is attacked by a symbiote. Doctor Strange arrives through a portal to restrain the monster, where he realizes he is not meant to be there. Peter notices a teenage girl in danger so helps her by distracting the symbiote. Doctor Strange restrains the creature as it is about to attack Peter, and as both go through the portal, a spider falls through. Peter helps the girl up, who introduces herself as Nico Minoru, just as Peter is bitten on the back of his neck from the spider bite and passes out, much to May's horror.
By 2016, Peter has gained superhuman abilities of a spider, calling himself Spider-Man and creates his own suit so he can keep his identity a secret. During this time, Peter and the Midtown students have transferred to Rockford T. Bales High School, where he reunites with childhood crush and his former babysitter, Pearl Pangan. Due to Peter's excellence and high achievements, he is greeted by Norman Osborn, who offers him an internship at Oscorp. Peter accepts and meets Norman's son, Harry Osborn, Doctor Connors and other interns, while also meeting Lonnie Lincoln in school, becoming fast friends. Peter tries to balance being a school student and the newest superhero, but transforms while at Oscorp, meaning Norman is aware he is Spider-Man.
Norman offers Peter to work with him as Spider-Man and promises to keep his identity a secret, on which Peter agrees. Norman creates different suits for Peter which don't work and accidentally reveals his secret to Harry. Harry is instructed to work alongside Spider-Man and help him in missions if Norman cannot be there. Meanwhile, Pearl starts dating Lonnie as Peter has gained enough courage to ask her out, himself. Now that Peter is friends with Harry and Nico, he tries to get them all to help out, but Peter is called by Norman to defeat Otto Octavius, a scientist who has been creating tech for other villains. This leaves Nico and Harry to spend time together alone and he accidentally reveals Peter is Spider-Man, assuming she already knows. Meanwhile, Lonnie agrees to join the 110, a street gang after learning his brother joined it and offers to take his place. Lonnie tries to balance being apart of the gang, which involves dangerous activities, and school life, which eventually gets him kicked off the football team and puts his relationship with Pearl to the test, but is given the nickname Tombstone after having saved Donovan.
Nico and Harry spend more time together as he apologises for spilling Peter's secret, as he thought Peter had told Nico. He teaches her to drive and Spider-Man learns of the Scorpion, who Otto has been giving tech to and Spider-Man fights him, but is nearly killed as a result. Peter is treated by Oscorp's medical team, under Norman's orders and survives. However, Peter returns home with a broken arm and black eye, telling May he feel off of Harry's skateboard the day before, keeping his identity a secret from his aunt, which she believes. Meanwhile, Pearl and Lonnie break up after his dedication to the 110 gets too much for her. Despite Peter being desperate to get back out there, now he has fully recovered, Norman tells him he must stay put for a few days and sends in Thaddeus Ross and Iron Man to deal with Octavius, which results in the criminal being arrested, while Harry surprises Peter with a brand new Spider-Man suit.
Now back to normal, Spider-Man fights the 110 gang, surprised to see Lonnie there as Peter has tried to convince him to reconsider. Scorpion returns and is desperate to kill Spider-Man and his gang fights the 110 as Big Donovan abandons the group, resigning as the leader. Lonnie tries to help Spider-Man fight the Scorpion but is thrown in the Oscorp truck, which is filled with Octavius' stuff. Lonnie is exposed to special gas which gives him super strength and fights alongside Spider-Man as the neighborhood hero almost kills Gargan as revenge. Scorpion is defeated and taken into custody, while Peter and Nico become friends again as they promise not to keep secrets from each other again and she supports his actions as Spider-Man, especially after he saves her from being hit by a truck. Peter then decides to resign from Oscorp and work with Harry, as a solo Spider-Man and join Harry's company W.E.B, a company for young geniuses, including the interns - minus Amedueus Cho - Peter worked alongside at Oscorp. Nico is revealed to have a magical amulet that allows her to speak beyond the grave and communicates with her late, biological mother, while May visits a man in prison, who is revealed to be Richard Parker, Peter's father, asking how his son is doing, as Peter is seen swinging around New York city, having fully embraced his powers as Spider-Man. Norman later returns to where he and his team had moved all the interns' inventions, and where he was greeted by Doctor Strange, being where Strange and Spider-Man defeated the symbiote. Norman looks around the destroyed warehouse and finds some of the symbiote's remains.

Trivia[]
- Unlike the live-action MCU Spider-Man movies, this is the first and only MCU Spider-Man project that is not a Sony Pictures co-production due to Marvel Studios having Spider-Man's animated TV rights, provided each episode does not exceed forty-four minutes.[9]
- While this is set prior to Spider-Man's introduction in Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland does not reprise his role of Peter Parker and nor does Marisa Tomei return as Aunt May.
- This series takes place in 2015, six months before Civil War.[10]
- In some promotional materials, a report on the Airport battle from Civil War (showing Giant Man grabbing War Machine), as well questions about the Sokovia Accords is shown.
- This is the second animated MCU show that does not have Tom Holland voice Spider-Man after the What If...? episode "What If... Zombies!?".
- Hudson Thames previously voiced Spider-Man in that What If...? episode.
- Tom Holland was unable to voice Spider-Man in animated MCU projects due to his contract being bound to Sony Pictures, the current owner of Spider-Man's movie rights.
- This series shows Norman Osborn as Peter Parker's mentor instead of Tony Stark/Iron Man from the MCU Sacred Timeline.
- Unlike his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Norman Osborn in this series is completely native to the MCU, albeit in a branched timeline.
- This series features various Spider-Man characters that appeared in MCU Spider-Man's Home Trilogy, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which none of the actors returned to voice their respective roles due to their contracts being bound to Sony Pictures, the current owner of the Spider-Man movie rights. Characters include Aunt May, Mac Gargan/Scorpion and Dmitri Smerdyakov/Chameleon.
- Not counting Spidey and his Amazing Friends, this will be the first Spider-Man series to be CGI-animated since Spider-Man: The New Animated Series.
- Animation is done by Japanese studio Polygon Pictures, who previously worked on shows such as Tron: Uprising and Star Wars Resistance.
- This series shows Norman Osborn/Green Goblin as Peter Parker's mentor instead of Tony Stark/Iron Man from the MCU Sacred Timeline.
- One of Peter's teachers is named Mr. Campbell after Bruce Campbell who starred in Sony and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man Trilogy with Tobey Maguire. He also made a cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as Pizza Papa, which Sam Raimi directed.
- References to scenes from Captain America: Civil War. This fits quite well in the sense that this series takes place six months before the events of that film. They include:
- Spider-Man stopping a bus crashing, which Tony Stark found footage of and showed to Peter, when he wanted to recruit the webslinger to join his team.
- The airport scene is recreated in animation, when Scott Lang grew to giant size and got hold of War Machine, while Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes watched on.
- This series features various Spider-Man characters who, unlike their appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home, are completely native to the MCU, albeit in a branched timeline. Characters include: symbiotes, Dr. Otto Octavius and Dr. Carla Connors, with the latter being both a female and African-American version of Dr. Curt Connors aka Lizard.
- This is the first and only MCU project where Uncle Ben makes his first brief appearance via a photo in the episode "Tangled Web".
- The What If...? episode "What If... Zombies!?" marks the first time Uncle Ben was name-dropped in the MCU.
- The MCU Spider-Man Home Trilogy never name-dropped Uncle Ben at least once, but was alluded to in some scenes.
- In Spider-Man: No Way Home, both Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man mentioned their respective Uncle Bens and how they died.
- This series reunites Craig of the Creek writer Jeff Trammell with voice actors Zeno Robinson, Kari Wahlgren, and Aleks Le.
- This is the first Marvel Studios Animation series to have more than two episodes premiere in one day.
- The series was originally going to be canon to the main timeline of the MCU, by telling the early days of Peter Parker as Spider-Man, until it was later revealed the series would take place in a different universe, while having references to the events of what happened on Earth-616, like the airport battle. This was previously done in the What If...? episode "What If... Zombies!?", which showed a different universe that featured a zombie apocalypse, but took place in 2018, based on the events of Avengers: Infinity War.
- Jeff Trammell considered having one of Peter's classmates to be Jessica Jones, who obviously would've been de-aged for the series.[11]
- The title cards change for each episode, to represent a different comic book cover.
