Zala is a character in the 2024 Disney photorealistic CGI film Mufasa: The Lion King. He is a male yellow baboon who lives in the Baboons' Tree. He is an elder and the leader of Rafiki's former troop.

Personality[]

Like the other elders of his troop, Zala is distrustful and suspicious of Rafiki's visions.

Physical appearance[]

Zala is a thin baboon with patchy fur. His fur is brown, white, and tan, while his eyes are orange.

Role in the film[]

One night, a cheetah climbed into the baboons' tree and nearly made off with one of their own. In response, the elders blamed Rafiki's premonitions. Though Junia leaped to Rafiki's defense, the elders called for a vote on his banishment, and the troop nigh-unanimously voted to exile him.
