A barbarian named Zartran moves in with Billy and friends, and entertains them with stories of heroic battle, but he is for real?
Plot[]
Billy is traversing a field where he runs into Zartran, a human like warrior covered in arrows. Billy takes pity on him and drags him back home. He, Marsha and Zeke prepare to nurse him back to health, but when they leave, Zartran tosses off his arrow jacket to reveal himself to be perfectly fine. The kids come back and ask where the arrows went and Zartran claims he cut them off. He further states that he was helping in a soup kitchen when his arch-nemesis, the Gumbrump, began a fight with him. When they ask if that is how he got the arrows in his back, he feigns tiredness and hops in Billy's bed.
The next morning, Billy and Marsha bother Zartran with questions with him already making mistakes with his story. When Zeke arrives with a hacky sack, Zartran tries to shift the conversation, but Billy continues to bother him. Eventually, Zartran claims that he had broken the space time continuum when he fought the Gumbrump in an attempt to explain some of his inconsistencies. Billy is satisfied, but wants more answers. Zartran decides to do a recreation of the fight and sends the kids to get soup. He trashes the house and when they come back believe that the Gumbrump fought him. Zartran sends Billy and his friends away for their own good, when in actuality he is trying to keep the house to himself.
As Billy, Zeke and Marsha leave, the latter reveals that she has started wearing the arrow jacket. The three quickly realize that Zartran tricked them and spot a giant monster who they identify as the Gumbrump. They tell him about Zartran and he angrily rolls down the hill and beats Zartran into leaving. Billy, Zeke and Marsha happily reclaim their house. Elsewhere, it is revealed that Zartran and Gumbrump are actually in league with each other and stole some of the kids' food; only to find that Anaximander ate all of their food.
