Zombies: Addison's Moonstone Mystery (retitled Zombies: Addison's Monster Mystery for the second season) is a series of animated shorts based on the Disney Channel Original Movie, Zombies. It premiered on October 16, 2020 on Disney Channel. The series takes place after Zombies 2. The second season was confirmed by Disney thanks to the very positive ratings and fan requests and premiered on October 1, 2021.
Description[]
A new school year begins for Addison, Zed, the zombies and werewolves, and Addison feels she needs to find her "missing piece". Her answer might come to her when she encounters a mysterious new girl named Vanna, who harbors a dark secret about her heritage.

Production[]
The production of the series was announced right after the film ZOMBIES 2 finished airing on Disney Channel. Aliki Theofilopoulos Grafft and Paul Hoen directed the first season, with Jenni Cook as producer. Each episode of the series is under five minutes long, and features the original cast reprising their roles.
Season 2 premiered on October 1, 2021 at 10:13 PM, under the new name Zombies: Addison’s Monster Mystery.

- The animation design of the characters are closely modeled after their live-action counterparts, and also take inspiration from the ZOMBIES doll line.
- The animation seems to be taken from the animated prologues of both films.
- Addison's Moonstone Mystery started out as an album by Meg Donnelly (Addison).
- The series has featured two original songs so far: "Feeling the Power" by Meg Donnelly, Milo Mannheim (Zed), and the ZOMBIES cast (which was not a music video, but featured as an original song) and "You Do You" by Meg Donnelly and Chandler Kinney (Willa). All other songs, such as "Do It Like the Zombies Do" and "One for All" originate from the two Zombies movies.
- This is the first animated series produced exclusively to Disney Channel after Mickey Mouse.
- The intro was first shown at the end of the "More than a Mystery" music video.
- Each episode is less than five minutes long.
- Bucky and Bonzo are yet to appear in the series.
- The series takes place between the events of Zombies 2 and Zombies 3.
